EXCERPTS 2018, THANK YOU!
Project Moshen Dance Company Kicked off the holiday season with their annual benefit production, EXCERPTS, benefitting the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. Excerpts premiered at Venice Island Performing Arts and Recreation Center, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Project Moshen's holiday production was dedicated to Founder & Artistic Director Kelli Moshen's mother, Jodi Moshen. In the spirit of giving this holiday season, all proceeds from Excerpts were given to the NOCC, in memory of Jodi. The evening included light fare, incredible dance performances from Project Moshen Dance Company and Philadelphia's JUSTSOLE Street Dance Theatre, and a raffle to benefit the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. Food was provided by Philly Pretzel Factory, and ProMo's favorite bakery Sweet T’s Bakeshop. Raffle items came from donors all over the Philadelphia region including: SOLIDCORE, Wawa, La Colombe, Philadelphia Distilling, BPM Fitness, Lumos Barre & Yoga, Yomibites, Brace Urself, Mary Kay, Chickie & Pete’s, the Philadelphia Eagles, California Closets, Philadelphia Circus School, Shake Shack, Honey Grow, and Rescue Spa. Thank you to all of the raffle donors, for helping to raise generous funds for the NOCC!
Project Moshen Dance Company's 2018 holiday show included various dance highlights from past shows, along with new dance pieces for the audience, to get Philadelphia jazz dance & performing arts fans excited for ProMo's spring show April 26- 28, 2019 at the Performance Garage! Excerpts also included a summarized version of their latest production, WOMAN, inspired by strong, powerful women everywhere. WOMAN shed light and brought awareness to women’s rights, and the constant struggle for recognition and equality in today’s society.
This year's holiday show also featured our friends from Philadelphia, JUSTSOLE Dance Theatre. JustSole: founded in 2010 by its Directors Kyle "JustSole" Clark and Dinita "Princess Di" Clark. The mission of the company, is to use Hip Hop dance (Street Dance) of all styles theatrically to inspire, empower, innovate, and motivate others to embrace their story and individuality while teaching the culture and history of Hip Hop Dance. Just Sole: SDT has performed all over the North East corridor. Most notably, they just performed at SummerStage NYC 2017 in July, Jacob's Pillow "Inside/Out" 2016, Philadanco’s Founders’ Day 2 years in a row as well as having been invited to perform for Koresh’s “Come Together” Festival 5 years consecutively. Just Sole! Street Dance Theater Company is fresh group of young emerging artists that are conscience, informed, and dynamic. Thinking Dance writes “ [Just Sole! SDTC] presented a youthful and raw version of hip-hop.” The Dance Journal writes “ Their transitions are very well structured and the launch-pad for individual talents as well as dazzling esprit de corps all spelling dance fireworks.”
Project Moshen Dance Company would like to thank everyone that came out to support our cause, our show and our new partnership with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC).
